The game of rebound volleyball can be played within the boundaries of the insider ground of cricket. The setting of the net is done at baseline that remains seven meters far from the wall along with stretching it across the court's length. An established serving area is assigned to every team from where they serve the ball using a rubber ball that seems to be like volleyball. On all the sides of the court, netting is done including the ceiling. A boundary line is also made around the courts outside marking the out of the bound line that restricts the crossing of the ball across the net.

Usually, the rebound volleyball game teams comprise of six players on every side and in many cases a mix of men and women play the game. Sometimes, just two or three players also make a team of rebound volleyball depending upon how many players are playing the game. The strategy can get altered on the basis of the number of players in the team when the people are employed specifically for blocking, hitting and serving.

When the game of rebound volleyball is going on, the rotation is done while serving the ball by each player to other team. The play off of the ball can be done through the side nets, but it can only touch the overhead net while the ball is first time hit by any team. In this way, the receiving team earns a chance for controlling the ball from a speed return, like what experiences after a spike. On the rebound volleyball court, players are hardly limited to any set position. As the rotation for serving the ball continues, they are free to move around any position they wish to. This rule seems to be extremely fantastic as here; every player gets the chance for playing by the net, back of the court or to serve.

The server is allowed to hit the ball hard during the game, but should remain careful that the ball should not go beyond the bounds. The movement of the game is fast and players should have the quick reflexes to know about the landing position of the ball when it is bouncing back towards the net.
